Lining Eyes
It takes steady hands and the near precision of a neurosurgeon to put on eyeliner. But it is also something that can be done at home.
Dust a sheer, loose powder on the upper and lower lids so the eyeliner sticks better. If you are going to curl your lashes, do it now. (Otherwise you could smudge the line.)
Choose the right formula. For a clean straight line, use a liquid eyeliner (try one with felt tip). To create a softer, more subtle line, pencils are best.
Rest your elbow on a hard surface to minimize shaking. Start in the middle of the eyelid, and drag the liner to the inner corner of the eye, drawing as close to the lashes as possible. Go back to the center of the of the eyelid and repeat the process outward.
To make your eyes look smoky, dab eye shadow (in a similar shade) over the line and lightly fan it out. This will also help the liner stay in place.
If the liner smudges, don't reapply more. Instead, clean up the line with a dampened Q-tip.
Eye Shadows
Makeup artists love our eye shadows because they are sophisticated and color-rich. The colors you see in the container are the colors you see when applied. Our trio eye shadows have been color co-ordinated by our makeup artists for easy use. Check out our newsletter for tips on using our products. Follow the simple instructions below and voila, spectacular looking eyes!
Shape your eyebrows. Apply eyeliner. Select the appropriate Kit - pastelle for daytime or adventurous for nighttime. Use the lightest shade in your Kit and cover the entire lid, from lash line to brow.
Apply the medium shade on the lower lid. Apply the darkest shade to the outer corners of the eyes from lash line to crease. Intensify for a more dramatic night-time look.
Apply mascara sparingly for a sophisticated daytime look. Load on two coats for a more dramatic night-time look.
Applying Mascara
Mascara is supposed to be one of your most effective makeup tools. It is a great eye opener that emphasizes the lashes. Apart from the obvious choice of color, many brands promise to thicken, lengthen, darken and condition your lashes. They are also available in waterproof and regular formulas.
Using a proper application technique when applying mascara is extremely important to achieve a finished look. You must ensure that the mascara covers the lashes from the root to the tip of the lash.
Hold the wand vertically when applying mascara to lower lashes, running this from side to side. Be extremely careful as to avoid smudging the under eye area.
When applying more than one coat, combing through lashes between coats will help prevent clumping. Clear Mascara can be used to create a natural effect or on the brows for extra control. |
